I joined the MEEP Lab as a biochemistry undergraduate senior to kick off my deep-dive into genomic studies from a chemical and evolutionary lens while leveraging computational tools in the process. I’m interested in protein and physiological functions as they relate to gene expression in the moss genus Syntrichia, and their broader implications on land plant evolution and the environment. A collaborative effort to investigate the genomic basis of hermaphroditism in Syntrichia princeps under the direction of Dr. Ekwealor during the 2026 PINC summer program sparked an initiative on my end to further acquaint myself with Syntrichia and contribute to the overall mission of the MEEP Lab. Outside of the lab I work on biomedical informatics projects and at the moment enjoy running, hiking, chasing sunsets, and exploring San Francisco.
